Summer Fun in the Pond and Hose
One of our favorite summer activities includes playing in the hose and kiddie pool. It is a nice way to give the dogs some exercise and keep them cool, when we don't want to take them swimming in the pond (it takes more clean up). We have really cold well water so it's very refreshing on a hot summer day, and as you can tell the dogs really enjoy it too!
Another option is to dump a bag of ice, or even several bags of ice in a kiddie pool. I do it most evenings on the deck while we sit outside to relax. The dogs dive in, wallow around in it, and of course eat it! I have a couple photos below of pups, younger and older, enjoying that.
As you can also see, our crazy red head Mini American girl Josie is a super star with hose games. She also gets bored during our mandatory breaks so tries to make stuff happen, hence trying to drag the pool full of water.
